Working from a live model often results in a painting which has that “in the moment” feeling. There is an urgency with each brushstroke, knowing that time is of the essence before the model accidentally changes position or the pose has to end. The process becomes an art in itself, a dance with time. That’s how I felt when painting Cyclist on a Break.
